This article elucidates the relevant influencing factors on the detection rate of abnormal discharge in electroencephalogram (EEG), including EEG monitoring time, type of epilepsy, seizure frequency, rational use of antiepileptic drugs, stress and provocative test, providing reliable basis for the routine application of EEG in epilepsy diagnosis.
